DC Universe’s ‘Doom Patrol’ Taps The First Purge’s Joivan Wade for Cyborg/Vic Stone

The right’s to this picture is owned by Warner Bros.

The DC Universe’s live-action Doom Patrol  news is here and Cyborg is finally confirmed,  can I get a “Booyah” if you recognise that catchphrase then you know are a true fan of Cyborg who will be one of the main protaganist’s in Doom Patrol and Hollywood has officially found their Victor Stone and this iconic character will be  Joivan Wade who’s most recently starred in (The First Purge) this news was confirmed by Doom Patrol director Greg Berlanti and Warner Bros TV.

Doom Patrol will be a reimagining of the superhero DC characters originally written and drawn by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani, Doom Patrol is written by Jeremy Carver (Supernatural, Being Human), who are the executive produces of Doom Patrol alongside Berlanti, Geoff Johns, and Berlanti Prods’ Sarah Schechter. Warner Bros. Television produces in association with Berlanti Productions.

Victor Stone also known as Cyborg is the athlete who is a charismatic half-human/half-machine superhero who may be connected to every computer on the world, but still struggles with connections of the more human kind. Desperate to be accepted by the outside world, Victor Stone harnesses the curse of his cybernetic body and uses his powers as the ultimate hero for the digital age.

Victor Stone is the son of Silas Stone and Elinore Stone, scientists who use him as a test subject for various intelligence enhancement projects. While these treatments are ultimately successful and Victor’s IQ subsequently grows to genius levels, he grows to resent his treatment. He strikes up a friendship with Ron Evers, a young miscreant who leads him into trouble with the law. This is the beginning of a struggle in which Victor strives for independence, engaging in pursuits of which his parents disapprove, such as athletics and abandoning his studies. Victor’s association with underage criminals leads him down a dark path in which he is often injured, but he still lives a “normal” life in which he is able to make his own decisions. He occasionally refuses to participate in Evers’ grandiose plans of racially motivated terrorism.

Victor joins the Teen Titans, initially for the benefit of a support group of kindred spirits and freaks, and has remained with that group ever since.[1] His teammates are like a group of juveniles who are adjusting to their own prosthetics for they idolize him because of his fancy parts and his exciting adventures. It also turns out that their beautiful teacher Sarah Simms, who has often assisted Cyborg and the Titans, admires him as well.

Another person who sees past the cybernetic shell is Dr. Sarah Charles, a S.T.A.R. Labs scientist who helps him to recuperate after having his cybernetic parts replaced. Cyborg and Dr. Charles date for some time and she, along with Changeling, keeps trying to reach him when he is seemingly mindless following the severe injuries he incurs during the “Titans Hunt” storyline.

Joivian Wade primarily started his acting career on a comedy sketch show he as a member of comedy trio Mandem on the Wall, Wade’s breakout role was in E4’s Youngers before building a resume that includes Netflix’s The Weekend Movie and Universal’s The First Purge; and television series turns on The Interceptor, Doctor Who, and EastEnders.

Check out the synopsis for Doom Patrol

Doom Patrol is a re-imagining of the beloved group of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl (April Bowlby) and Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief). The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.

Picking up after the events of Titans, Doom Patrol will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg (Wade), who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.

Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 Date Annoucement revealed

“I am Danny Rand, the Immortal Iron Fist, Protector of K’un-Lun, Sworn Enemy of the Hand” – Danny Rand the Immortal Iron Fist

Looks like the Immortal Iron-Fist is back for season 2 a lot of people, including casual comics fans, likely hadn’t heard of Iron Fist until Netflix announced they were making a television show. “He’s not an A-List Marvel superhero,” said Chow. “You have Spider-Man, the X-Men, Captain America, and Iron Man, and then you have another level below them, which is like Daredevil. Iron First was probably, at best, C-level in the Marvel universe.”

In the comics, Iron Fist is the nom de superhero of Daniel “Danny” Rand, a rich kid from New York who gets imbued with magical powers in K’un Lun (an actual mountain chain in Asia with its own mythology), only to go back to New York to avenge his father’s death and fight crime. He was created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane in the 1970s, when martial arts movies were all the rage. At a certain point, he teams up with Luke Cage (played by Mike Colter in the Netflix/Marvel universe). “It was like this buddy cop kind of thing,” said Chow, “where you have the street-smart black dude and the clueless white guy kind of coming together and having these adventures.”

Danny Rand also known as Iron-Fist is a warrior sworn to protect a the sacred land of K’un Lun, he is back and ready to become a true badass martial artist superhero protector, and surpass his former self and defeat anyone who get’s in his way. Marvel’s Iron-Fist season 2 will premiere on the 7th of September 2018
