Marvelous Europe turns it up to 11 in free-form rhythm title Gal Metal, rocking on to Nintendo Switch, 2nd November

Joy-Cons™ at the ready – DMM Games’ free-form rhythm game Gal Metal makes its debut exclusively on the Nintendo Switch platform today, 2nd November in Europe, accompanied by a DLC pack and physical retail edition packed with excellent extras.

Available digitally for the Nintendo Switch, hardcore metalheads can rock out in Gal Metal using the Joy-Con™ controllers to create unique rhythms by way of easy-to-learn, yet difficult-to-master, drumlines – all while saving the Earth from an alien invasion.

Fans can also get their hands on the ‘Encore Pack’ DLC, adding five new characters to the game, each with their own unique story episode and song, released on the same day as the base game.

Those keen to get their hands on even more content can also purchase Gal Metal: World Tour Edition from selected retail stores from the day of release, which contains the base game and Encore Pack DLC, bundled together on the same Nintendo Switch cartridge, along with an exclusive set of Heavy Metal stickers. These stickers feature an assortment of in-game characters that owners can use to customise their Nintendo Switch or Joy-Con™ controllers.

Gal Metal is a rhythm game designed for Nintendo Switch that turns the Joy-Con™ into drum sticks. Players take hold of the Joy-Con™ and rock along with the music in order to repel would-be alien conquerors. This is accomplished by creating complex musical performances and racking up millions of points using personal free-form drumlines based on over a dozen different beats. With Nintendo Switch Pro Controller support on offer as well, players can choose how they want to jam and earn metal power to use against these nefarious invaders in this uniquely adlib-friendly rhythm spectacular.

Planet Earth is on the brink of invasion after humanity ruined the peace and quiet of the universe with the broadcast of metal music on the Voyager probe’s Golden Record. Aliens picked up the signal and couldn’t stop headbanging, and now they’re dying off because of it, so they want revenge! The only thing standing between these music-hating creeps and total planetary domination is…a metal band?

Landing over the sleepy Tokyo suburb of Kichijoji, the invaders abduct an unassuming high school student and merge his soul with that of Rinko, the drummer in her high school’s outrageous all-girl metal club. Now sharing Rinko’s body, this unlikely duo will have to team up to take down the aliens with the only weapon they have: metal.

Joining this pair are Rinko’s bandmates in K.M.G. (Kichijoji Metal Girls): Kia, super sci-fi nerd and synthesizer player; Mani, resident rich girl and bassist; Shiimi, delinquent and lead guitarist; and Erii, gentle giant and backup guitarist. Together, they’ll perfect their music to thwart the aliens and protect the earth, all while navigating the rigors of regular school life.
