Super Nintendo World in development for Osaka for 2020

Super Nintendo World is a themed area under construction in Universal Studios Japan featuring Nintendo franchises, such as Mario. First announced in 2015, construction began in June 2017 and is planned for completion in time for Tokyo’s 2020 Summer Olympics. The ¥40 billion ($351 million U.S) collaboration is similar in scale to Universal’s investment in the Harry Potter franchise.

The partnership, first announced in May 2015 and detailed the next year, would use Mario and other Nintendo franchises as themes in dedicated areas of Universal theme parks. The ¥40 billion ($351 million U.S) collaboration is similar in scale to Universal’s investment in the Harry Potter franchise.

Construction on the initial theme park land in Osaka began in June 2017 with a groundbreaking ceremony and is planned for completion in time for Tokyo’s 2020 Summer Olympics. One ride will be themed on the Mario Kart series. The firm expects to eventually expand to Universal’s Hollywood and Orlando parks.

This Nintendo theme park is an ideal reason for more tourists to visit Osaka in Japan, also another incentive is that this amazing Nintendo theme park is planned to completed for 2020 the same time Tokyo will host the Summer Olympics this is big news, and will bring a lot of positive and possibly negative (sport fans acting rowdy) attention to the land of the rising sun, let’s hope it is mostly positive, imagine the awesome Super Mario rollercoasters and many other fair attractions.
