The Aquaman movie trailer is finally here, directed James Wan and starring Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry this movie will be the titular movie dedicated to DC Comics’ iconic character, Aquaman will have to rise to the challange, of becoming a king, the King of Atlantis this is a huge responsibility that Arthur Curry has to undertake. Jason Momoa will be joined by Amber Herd she will be potraying Mera the Queen of Atlantis who is a major character in DC Comics, Mera is the former Queen of Dimension Aqua (Xebel), Queen of Atlantis, and wife of DC Comics superhero Aquaman. Mera also has a twin sister named Hila.

In her first chronological appearance, Mera is shown to be fleeing the criminal Leron, who seized control of her kingdom, when she arrives on Earth and meets Aquaman and Aqualad, who vow to help her. Leron captures them, imprisoning Aquaman and Mera in Dimension Aqua. Aided by the water spirit known as Quisp, Aquaman manages to free Mera and defeats Leron. Mera abdicates the throne of Xebel to Queen V’lana, and returns to Atlantis to marry Aquaman. Soon after, they had a son named Arthur Curry, Jr., also known as Aquababy.

Ludi Lin and Yahya Abdul-Manteen II, two very notabale actors will also be present in this movie, Ludi Lin will be potraying Murk, Commander Murk is the leader of the Men-of-War, Atlantis’s frontline army. He served Arthur Curry’s brother, Orm, and later served Aquaman.

He secretly disobeyed Atlantean law and showed loyalty to Orm as he believed Orm was the true leader of Atlantis. He rallied Tula and Swatt to free Orm from Belle Reve. While he was gone, Atlantis was attacked by Scavenger and the Dead King and left weakened due to their missing general.

On the other hand, one of the antagonising characters, Black Manta potrayed by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, an amazing actor, the character Black Manta is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character first appeared in Aquaman #35 (September 1967) and is the archenemy of the superhero Aquaman. Black Manta had no definitive origin story until #6 of the 1993 Aquaman series. In this origin, the boy who would become Black Manta grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, and loved to play by the Chesapeake Bay. Throughout his youth he was kidnapped and forced to work on a ship for an unspecified amount of time, where he was physically abused by his captors. At one point, he saw Aquaman with his dolphin friends and tried to signal him for help but was not seen. Finally, he was forced to defend himself, killing one of his tormentors on the ship with a knife. Hating the emotionless sea and Aquaman, whom he saw as its representative, the boy was determined to become its master

Overall, in conclusion this Aquaman movie is promising and has the potential to be a brillilant movie, for the family it has the cast and characters that are fit to play all the roles and the Atlantis, fictional story and DC Comics references are amazing and true to the source material.

    1. Yeah it can see where you’re coming from it has a lot of references to the Aquaman lore and Atlantis such as, Mera, Arthur Curry and Black Manta it’s really awesome to see a good rendition of Aquaman, people used to make fun of Aquaman saying he’s useless but this movie and Jason Momoa will rectify Aquaman’s reputation and him a true badass superhero
