In Los Angeles, California on the 2nd of July 2018 the Game Critics Awards took place and, KINGDOM HEARTS III was awarded Best RPG title. This continues the critical reception of the title most notably at the E3 convention where it received over 30 awards from North and South American media publications.
“The long-awaited third entry in the beloved KINGDOM HEARTS franchise brings together the magical worlds of Disney, Pixar and Square Enix,” said Ryan Lacina, Product Marketing Director at Square Enix. “Fans can expect an RPG adventure of a lifetime, with all new worlds and characters, epic battles and a storyline filled with Disney magic.”
KINGDOM HEARTS III will be available on January 29, 2019 for the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X, and the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system. KINGDOM HEARTS III is not yet rated. KINGDOM HEARTS III tells the story of the power of friendship as Sora and his friends embark on a perilous adventure and support each other through difficult times. Set in a vast array of Disney worlds, KINGDOM HEARTS follows the journey of Sora, a young boy and unknowing heir to a spectacular power. Sora is joined by Donald Duck and Goofy, two emissaries sent by King Mickey from Disney Castle, to stop an evil force known as the Heartless from invading and overtaking the universe. Through the power of positivity and friendship, Sora, Donald and Goofy unite with iconic Disney and Pixar characters old and new to prevail tremendous challenges and persevere against the darkness threatening their worlds.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Synopsis

KINGDOM HEARTS is a series of role-playing games created through the collaboration of Disney and Square Enix. Since the first KINGDOM HEARTS was released in March 2002 for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the series has expanded with several additional entries. The series celebrated its 15th anniversary on March 2017, and has shipped over 25 million units worldwide.

      1. My bad. CoM stands for Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories the game that came out for the GBA and remade for the PS2/3/4. It allowed for strategy,, allowed the player to custimoze their deck, and button mashing or using combos was not the main way to play.

        KH2 on the other hand is more of an Action game rather than an RPG especially when compared to the 1st game. Party members are weaker and are more like glorified items for Drives/Limits, the prologue doesn’t have as many choices as KH1’s, the camera is more zoomed out to focus on combos and in order to defeat a boss you have to finish it with a combo. All of these characteristics make the game more similar to something like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, or even the original God of Wars rather than something like Final Fantasy 9, the Persona series, or even KH1 or CoM. At least in my opinion.
