“There is also one other thing – a completely new gameplay experience I want to provide to players of XV as well.” He told Gameinformer. “I can’t tell you what that is yet, though. We’re currently thrashing through the plans for that and getting it into shape, so we can announce exactly what that is at the beginning of the year.” – Hajime Tabata
Hajime Tabata also clarified that he and his team want to release a DLC that is closely linked to Final Fantasy XV’s main story, and wants for it to have a very strong influence “rather than something somewhat peripheral and unrelated.” That is the type of content they want to show for future DLC, of Final Fantasy XV.
The development team are also planning to bring Final Fantasy XV’s journey to an official, and satisfying, close. According to the game director Hajime Tabata, the adventure for Final Fantasy XV began with the fans and he wants this paticular game to end well, with the fans.
“We’ve had this idea for quite a while now of how we’re going to bring the game to the end,” he says. “We call it, ‘The end of the journey – the end of our journey.’ Again, it’s a project that we’ve come all the way from the beginning alongside our fans and we want to bring it to an end together with those fans.” – Hajime Tabata
Finally, when asked if the same business model for Final Fantasy XV would continue on in future Final Fantasy titles, Hajime Tabata had this to say:
“I think it’s more of a case that there are more options available for future Final Fantasy developers – this idea of a service model and as a way you interact with the fan base of the game. It’s not a single point in time, it’s carrying on in continuous contact with them. I think that kind of option, that kind of model, is something [Square Enix] may want to take up for future Final Fantasies.” – Hajime Tabata
