With the surge of amazing Afrocentric and POC art in the mainstream (Black Panther, Marvel’s Runaways, Storm X-Men, Orisa Overwatch, Spyke X-Men) I think it’s time I introduce you all to the Instagram user jaynyina. He is a very talented artist who specialises in digital art consisting of characters from anime such as Naruto Shippuden, Boruto Naruto: Next Generations (Sarada Uchiha, Boruto Uzumaki), DC Comics characters such as Wonder Woman.

This artist also has clients and works on original characters, check below for the awesome concept art in progress. As you can see the left is an outline sketch and the right is a fully developed and coloured character who is African and is wearing a black and red uniform which is Samurai and Sci-Fi influenced. Check out the sources for more information and his Artstation it’s a must see.

      1. To keep the types basic I have my characters put into 2 main groups, The Imperial Holy Guard and a Resistance. There’s a bit of a third group who are like a wild card but even then they still fit into those two groups. As far as events go it ultimately revolves around a coup d’ètat of an Empire, the perpetrators have put the king in a state that’s similar to a coma and are using two of his 3 daughters to run the Empire and keep the public unaware.

Meanwhile some members of the public have gotten suck and tired of the more martial law esque rule that’s happened as a result of the event I just stated. I wanna give the pov from both the resistance and imperials (the characters are all soilders) I want to kind of blur the lines between who’s good and bad at times.
