Sonic Live-Action movie announced [NEWS]

According to Hollywood Reporter   a Sonic the Hedgehog is in development. Neal H. Moritz and Tim Miller will be collaborating to bring us the all new, live-action Sonic The Hedgehog Live-Action movie.

Synopsis of the movie

Neal H. Moritz, whose Original Film banner recently signed an upcoming first look deal with Paramount, will produce the project, which is coming to the studio after Sony Entertainment put it into turnaround.

Much of the team that was developing it at Sony remains: In addition to Moritz, Deadpool director Tim Miller is executive producing, while his longtime Blur Studio collaborator Jeff Fowler will make his feature directorial debut on the film. Also executive producing is Toby Ascher, while Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons will serve as co-producers.

Paramount plans on making a movie that will blend live action and CGI animation as it brings Sonic to the big screen for the first time.Fowler previously wrote and directed the animal-centric Gopher Broke, the 2005 Academy Award-nominated animated short that Miller executive produced.


Sonic the hedgehog is about a anthropomorphic hedgehog who is on Earth and is here to eat chilli dogs, hang out with his friends and oh yeah do his job. Saving the world from Dr. Robotnik also known as Dr Eggman.

He is friends with Miles “Tails” Prower, Knuckles the echidna. Dr. Eggman is a psychopath he just wants to destroy and dominate the world. The first IP was released in 1991 by SEGA the mascot is one of the most iconic characters in the world of video games. 360 million copies of the various titles have been sold worldwide.

Let’s hope this movie isn’t bad, video games movies are on the come up (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider) this one is going to somehow have computer integrated graphics implemented with live action so this one will be interesting to say the least.
