The creators of South Park Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Ubisoft have revealed their latest game which is a sequel South Park Stick of Truth. This game is called South Park The Fractured But Whole, this game is a superhero turn based game but sparked controversty with the “choose difficulty” part when players create their avatar.

Check out the first part from Eurogamer’s playthrough, which features the controversial part

In my opinion, the creators of the South Park The Fractured But Whole and Ubisoft South Park: Trey Parker and Matt Stone  decided to add the controversial difficulty bar where if you choose your character to have white skin he/she will put the game on an easy difficulty but as you scroll through the difficulty bar tan to mixed race is normal and darker skin is very difficult. This is a statement proving the reality of white privilege in modern society.

In the game Eric Cartman also warns you that

“Don’t worry, this doesn’t affect combat. Just every other aspect of your whole life.”

Everyone knows how bold the creators are of this show almost every social construct has been exploited so should we really be surprised by this. The game is still awesome but this is a powerful message that people put in power should be aware of equality and make things fair for everyone in particular Africans.

What are the creators trying to pull here, do you think it is a statement of displaying white privilege or a publicity stunt, this is undeniably one of the most controversial pierces I have researched and written but has to be done, tell us you’re in the comment section.

Expect the game to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. On the 17th of October 2017 on Tuesday.
