Meet the actors who will be portraying Dick Grayson, Starfire and Raven for The Titans Live action series

DC Comics has revealed who will be playing Raven, Starfire and now Nightwing these are the three characters who are confirmed for the 2018 Titans live action TV series that will be debuting on DC Comics new online streaming service but there will be more characters joining the squad.

 1. Meet Nightwing/Dick Grayson

Dick Grayson will be portrayed by Brenton Thwaites. He definitely looks the part and has experience acting on movies such as: Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge (2017) and Gods of Egypt (2017) and many other movies. Dick Grayson is a very important character in the DC Comics Universe he is one of the most versatile superheroes transitioning from sidekick, leader of the Teen Titans, to independent hero, to agent, to successor of Batman and back to his rightful place as Nightwing.

Nightwing is my favourite character so I hope this addition of the superhero, is adapted correctly.  DC Entertainment head Geoff Johns‘ statement to Deadline with the casting announcement, the executive producer of the Titans series never outright dubbed Thwaites’ role as Nightwing.

“Dick Grayson is one of the most important and iconic heroes in the DC universe, and it wasn’t easy to find him but we have,” Johns said. “Brenton has the emotional depth, heart, danger and physical presence of Batman’s former protégé and the Titans’ future leader. We’re extremely lucky he’s chosen to bring his talents to this project and this character.”

2. Meet Koriand’r/Starfire

Anna Diop will portray Starfire in the 2018 Titans live action TV series. When fans first heard this news across social media in particular Instagram they criticised and ostracised the actress for being a black woman and the comic book character Starfire is orange so she can be portrayed by any race.

Anna Diop is a Senegalese actress with a successful career (Actors don’t get cast for major roles for no reason) She has also been series regular on 24: Legacy for the role of Nicole Carter  and many others you can read more about her career here. Also none of us has seen a trailer yet so no one should judge until we have seen a teaser trailer.

Also below another actress Zoe Saldana character she was portraying from Guardians of the Galaxy Gamora who is from Puerto rico and Dominican Republic was made into an alien female character and it turned out great so I have high hopes Starfire played by Anna Diop will look amazing especially if this show is going to be one of the leading shows on DC Comics new online streaming service.

3. Meet Raven

Teagan Croft will be playing Raven in the 2018 Titans live action TV series. This cast suprised me at first becuase Raven is so young in this adaption but than I understood becuase in the 2016 Raven comic she is 14 and the actor is 14 so this is incredibly accurate casting.

Raven is a deep character of the Team, she has had a dark past being half human, half demon and daughter of Trigon the terrible  she is a magical character who uses Magic, Emotional manipulation, Psychic power, Shadow manipulation, Supernatural knowledge, Telekinesis, Teleportation, Flight, Healing factor.

She is going to be really interesting as her character develops I wonder if she will be dark and mysterious or more of a free spirit like her 2016 potrayal in the comics. ???

Beast Boy is yet to be announced and the two other characters rumoured to be in this show is Hawk & Dove. I can’t wait for a teaser trailer to drop.
