Bandai Namco and the Tekken project are slowly announcing the rest of their roster for their critically acclaimed fighting video game Tekken 7: Fated Retribution. Since the release of this reveal trailer for Eddy Gordo a long time iconic Tekken character, the Tekken online community are divided about Eddy’s arrival.
On one side he is a great character, with good mix ups such as high, medium and low well MAINLY low attacks since he practices capoeira a Brazilian martial arts that uses elements of dance, acrobatics and traditional Brazilian music. capoeira was originally developed by Angolan slaves during the transatlantic slave trade in Brazil.
Eddy Gordo in present day is a well-known video games character even among non-tekken fans. Eddy Gordo was introduced in Tekken 3. Now that he is conformed for Tekken 7: Fated Retribution a lot of fans are either excited or not thrilled at all knowing the high amount of damage Eddy can inflict during battle. Capos are extremely over powered and should be nerfed to make the game balanced I will admit that but some people express their hatered for Capos a little too much to the point where it’s embrasing. A good enough player can succesfully defeat Eddy with not too much problems.
This trailer displays his new Tekken 7: Fated Retribution outfit wearing a leopard print jacket, chains, white T-Shirt, black trousers and black shoes. I’m sure his traditional capoeira outfit is available upon release.
His look is redefined by the Unreal engine 4, the fluid moves go with the awesome electronic dance music in this trailer that sounds like you’re in a electro house rave the fluid fighting from Eddy goes well with this type of music. Also we are treated to two new fighting stages: The first one is a throwback to Tekken 6’s G Corporation, Millennium Tower Heliport, this is reminiscent of Tekken 6’s G corporation but with more stage effects for instance at 0:40 of the trailer you see Eddy dealing Hwoarang damage and the metal gates destroying on impact. check out the trailer below.
Additionally in this trailer we get to see Eddy Gordo’s rage art, his rage drive, high, medium and low strings and mix ups, Eddy Gordo is looking more powerful than ever in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution also we noticed another new stage which I believe is a throwback to Tekken 4’s, this new stage looks awesome, with a lot of vibrant attractions occurring during gameplay for example a massive screen in the background, fire blazing and neon floor.
Overall I am excited to see Eddy Gordo return to the franchise, it will be fun to play as him online and offline and he is a very iconic video game character after all. Haters should learn to play the game and not complain about Capo’s. I mean what about Lili she is a dangerous with those long legs of hers and her kicks do so much damage and Lars too he needs to be nerfed ASAP.
