Marvel and Netflix have been on a role with Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage but now we have the next hero to make his debut to Neflix. And it’s Iron-Fist, Iron-Fist to me is a martial artist and a warrior who is a superhero and fights to defend the weak and for his own inner peace.
I discovered Iron-Fist in the animated series. Iron-Fist was a mystic martial artist superhero who was apart of the Ultimate Spider-Man series he was a supporting character in Spider-Man’s old team and still is a close friend Iron-Fist also known as Danny Rand was that badass.
Iron-Fist will be portrayed by an actor who has been on Game of Thrones a highly successful TV series, Finn played Loras Tyrell. I expect this version of Iron-Fist to be graceful yet badass, gentle yet intimidating. In the animated cartoon Ultimate Spider-Man, I always got a zen, mystical Bruce Lee kind of vibe from Iron-Fist. I want that to be prevalent in the live action adaption of the show on Netlix.
iron-Fist has interesting powers and abilities such as:
Plunging his fists into the molten heart of the dragon Shou-Lao the Undying infused the dragon’s superhuman energy into Rand. This, along with being trained by Lei Kung the Thunderer, gave Rand the power of the Iron Fist, allowing him to summon and focus his chi energy (also called natural energy or life-force energy) to enhance his natural abilities to extraordinary levels. His strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility, reflexes and senses can all be greatly intensified.
He is able to concentrate his own chi and the superhuman energy from Shou-Lao’s heart into his hand, with it manifesting as a supernatural glow around his hand and fist. So concentrated, this “iron fist” can strike with superhuman hardness and impact, while his hand becomes impervious to pain and injury. However, summoning the power required by this feat leaves Rand physically and mentally drained, unable to repeat the act for a time, as long as an entire day in certain instances, though after years of using the ability, it has become less draining.
Rand is also a skilled acrobat, gymnast, and a master of all of K’un Lun’s martial arts, as well as various fighting styles from Earth.
Also guess what RZA from Wu-Tang Clan a legendary Hip Hop Group directed one of the upcoming episodes of this show.
K’un-Lun ain’t nuttin ta f–k with!
Most of the titles and directors for Marvel’s Iron Fist series were revealed recently when the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) released their ratings for each of the episodes. The sixth episode, which is titled “Immortal Emerges From Cave,” didn’t have a director listed, but now, thanks to the show’s star Finn Jones, we know that RZA helmed it.
“So before I started the role, I actually made a playlist on my iPod of songs that Danny Rand would listen to,” Jones explained during an Extra live Q&A (via MCU Exchange). “It’s a lot of kind of ’90s hip-hop like De La Soul, Jurassic 5, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang Clan. Like that kind of music is really what Danny’s jamming to. And we actually feature that in the series. And actually, one of our episodes was directed by the RZA himself. Episode 6. So, yeah, there’s very close ties to hip-hop music and the Iron Fist series.”
What was it like working with RZA? “Oh, he’s a dude,” Jones said. “He’s a complete dude. Actually really sweet but chill. He has a really good vision of what he wants. He understands that martial arts genre.”
Overall I am excited for Finn Jones, overall the trailer looks awesome and I can’t wait to see what he brings to the table, Netflix and Marvel and working closely together and bring quality superhero shows that are dark and gritty, we had Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and now we are getting Iron-Fist let’s hope they can deliver and who knows they might introduce a certain team element to the small screen.
