If you’re anything like me, you are a very enthusiastic individual about your interests. I’ve always known I had an unusual interest in entertainment in particular video games, the hobby we all know and love, which is officially mainstream well it has been for almost a decade. There are several award ceremonies for video games nowadays but the main one is literally called “The Game Awards 2016.” This year Geoff Keighley hosted The Game Awards 2016 in December the 10th the ceremony was hosted in the United States of America in Los Angeles in the Microsoft Theatre.

The award ceremony had a lot of public figures from the gaming industry, musicians, Athletes, eSport stars and YouTube content creators who are interested in the video games industry, such as Hideo Kojima (Game Designer Kojima Productions) , Bill Trinen (Senior Product Marketing Manager), Michael Phelps (Olympic Swimmer), Boogie2988 (YouTube content creator he won trending gamer)

The Game Awards results were interesting they were as follows:

Jury Voted Awards:

  1. Game of the year: Overwatch developed by Blizzard Entertainment
  2. Best game direction: Blizzard Entertainment
  3. Best Narrative: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End developed by Naughty Dog
  4. Best Art Direction: Inside developed by Playdead
  5. Best Music/Sound Design: Doom composed by Mick Gordon
  6. Best Performance: Nolan as Nathan Drake from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
  7. Games for impact: That Dragon Cancer developed by Numinous Games
  8. Best Independent Game: Inside developed y Playdead
  9. Best Mobile/Handheld Game: Pokemon Go developed Niantic
  10. Best VR Game: Rez Infinite developed by United Game Artist
  11. Best Action Game: Doom developed by
  12. Best Action Adventure: Dishonoured 2
  13. Best Roleplaying Game: The Witcher 3: Man Hunt -Blood and Wine
  14. Best Fighting Game: Street Fighter V developed by Capcom
  15. Best Strategy Game: Civilisation V developed by Firaxis Games
  16. Best Family Game: Pokemon Go developed by Niantic
  17. Best Sports Game: Forza Horizon 3 developed by Playground Games

Fan’s choice awards:

1.  Most Anticipated Game: Legends of Zelda: Breath of the wild

2. Trending Gamer: Boogie2988 the YouTuber

3. Best Fan Creation: Enderal: The Shards of order

4. Esports Player of the year: Marcelo “Coldzera” David (SK Gaming – Counter Strike: Global Offensive)

5. Esports Team of the year: Cloud9

6. Esports Game of the year: Overwatch developed by Blizzard Entertainment

Honorary Awards:

  1. Industry Icon: Hideo Kojima

All of these industry icons. Made a huge impact on the gaming industry, through their innovated work and professionalism. They have contributed greatly to the gaming industry with is worth £70 billion pounds in the United Kingdom alone. I am hopeful and excited for the next year of gaming.  I predict 2017 will be an even bigger year for video games many new IP’s will be released and 2016, games such as Overwatch and Street Fighter 5 bring competitors together to compete in fierce battle for the highest achievements, such as cash prices. But most importantly the title and honour of being known as an OG champion at gaming tournaments, I would like to congratulate everyone who won and also the gamers like you and me who make up the gaming industry buying, selling and playing all our favourite video games.
